No, our mouthguards do not contain any harmful materials. As part of the CE approval process, our mouthguard products undergo innocuous and chemical testing to ensure the materials they contain won’t hurt or negatively affect our users.

The specific standards that apply to mouthguards are:

  • BS EN 1186: 2002, required for any plastics that come into contact with foodstuffs. This test is done to confirm that chemicals won’t transfer from the plastic into users’ bodies in toxic quantities.
  • BS EN 71-3: 2013measures the amount of certain elements like copper, mercury, and zinc that are scraped off solid materials when bitten, licked, or sucked.
  • PAH testingdetermines whether certain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are present in a given material.

Though not required as part of the CE certification process, we can also confirm that our mouthguards contain neither Formamide nor Bisphenol A (BPA).
